    ***A raceway (channel letters only, not for reverse channel) allows for less expensive installation, as wiring (lighted signs only), transformers and ballasts reside in a common backing (the raceway). Raceway signs cost more initially, but cost you a lot less to install.
    A typical 7" x 7" metal raceway panel creates a common background.

    Raceways are NOT available for reverse channel or plastic-body channel letters, only standard channel letters.

    Installation:

    Letters must be installed by an electrical contractor.
    Order letters with a raceway (higher initial cost) because the sign may be installed and may only require an electrical contractor to do the final electric hookup.

    Letters are sold with an installation template, prewired and ready to be drilled, mounted and installed by a licensed contractor. Letters on a raceway are sold ready for installation, with final hookup generally done by an electrical contractor. Be sure to comply with all local and municipal codes when installing an electrical product so you avoid risk of injury and diminish the potential of a life-threatening shock to yourself or others.
